Native Directions Sobriety Support Services Inc. was founded by James Bywater and Robert Yellowfox Boyd in 2003. Native Directions offers education, retraining, behavior modification, therapy, interventions, and referal services for youth, their families and communities dealing with the issues of substance abuse, behavioral problems, and mood disorders. This is a non-profit 501(C)3 public charity corporation that utilizes Native American wisdom, holistic wisdom, nature, and conventional means to help teens maintain sobriety and realize their dreams and potential. We believe in a 3 step approach to the problems of todays youth. 1st educate the young so that they will have the wisdom and power to say no to drugs. 2nd provide support and education to retrain teens so that they may listen and learn from the wisdom of Nature, Natural Consequences, and their Elders that they may learn to be happy and achieve their dreams and potential. The 3rd step is to give support to adults, families, and communities struggling with issues of substance abuse, behavioral problems, and mood disorders.
